Reliance Retail’s Ajio has introduced same-day and next-day delivery services across 26 cities
In an effort to gain a larger share of India’s quick delivery ecosystem, Reliance is doubling down on quick commerce with its fashion and lifestyle platform Ajio and grocery arm JioMart. Reliance Retail’s Ajio has introduced same-day and next-day delivery services across 26 cities.
In an investor presentation, the company highlighted that the platform continued to deliver steady growth and added 1.9 million new customers during the quarter. It strengthened the portfolio to 2.4 million options, marking a 44 per cent YoY growth. The company said that it also integrated Shein, the Chinese fast fashion brand, across app, web and store-in-store (SIS) on Ajio, with over 12,000 options now live on the platform.
On the other hand, the company has been focusing on tapping the quick commerce space with its grocery arm JioMart. The company highlighted in its investor presentation that JioMart has accelerated quick hyper-local deliveries and operations have scaled to over 4,000 pin codes across over 2,100 stores.
Expanding its quick hyper-local deliveries, JioMart delivered 2.4 times quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth of exit daily gross orders in Q4FY25. The company introduced separate tabs, quick and scheduled, to offer a choice between under-30-minute quick deliveries and scheduled deliveries with a differentiated assortment. Adding to the developments, the company explained that the subscription service continues to expand its catalogue and has witnessed 27 per cent YoY growth in daily orders and 37 per cent YoY growth in app/web visits.
Marking a healthy improvement in its performance, Reliance Retail Ventures or RRVL, the retail arm of Reliance Industries, has witnessed a 29.1 per cent uptick in its profit after tax on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025 (Q4FY25). The net profit rose to Rs 3,545 crore in Q4FY25 from Rs 2,746 crore in Q4FY24.
