Emphasising that India’s preferences remained deeply emotional even as gifting formats evolved, data by FNP revealed that cakes and flowers continued to dominate India’s gifting choices, with chocolate truffle cakes and rose bouquets emerging as the most gifted products nationwide.
Sharing the Gifting Stack 2025, FNP noted that fastest gift of the year was delivered in just 12 minutes across 8.2 kilometre. 55 per cent of all gifts were sent in the morning, overtaking post-morning and midnight orders. Delhi emerged as the top gifting city of the year, with Mumbai following closely behind by a narrow margin of just 0.65 per cent.
While Delhi gravitated towards luxury hampers, Mumbai led the country in romantic gifting, reflecting its reputation as a city that celebrates emotions openly and often. Bengaluru favoured plants while Kolkata leaned strongly towards cakes and sweets, showcasing how gifting preferences vary meaningfully across metros.
“Midnight surprises continued to play a meaningful role. Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Lucknow led the way in midnight orders, choosing to make loved ones feel special at the moment when it matters the most, with gifts timed perfectly to mark the start of their big day,” the company noted.
The report pointed out that one of the year’s most memorable gestures saw a gift travel 2,178 kilometre from Kochi to Srinagar. Aditya emerged as the most gifted name of the year, popping up across personalised cakes, flowers, and keepsakes everywhere.
