Citykart Expands Presence With 22 New Stores Under Coco Model

The company is adopting a geographically diversified approach with a strong focus on high-growth northern and central India markets

In line with its expansion strategy, value fashion retailer Citykart has opened 22 new stores across multiple states within a span of 40 days. The company is adopting a geographically diversified approach with a strong focus on high-growth northern and central India markets.

All new stores have been launched under the company-owned, company-operated (COCO) model, aimed at ensuring consistency in operations and merchandising. The company continues to fortify its presence in existing cities while strategically entering neighboring cities and adjoining states to build stronger regional clusters.

“We realise that in most parts of our targeted states, the demand does not need to be created, it needs to be understood and well served. Opening stores at this speed is not just momentum; it signals how deeply we understand the opportunity in front of us. We see this as the early stages of a much larger journey, where organised value retail will continue to evolve and expand,” stated Sudhanshu Agarwal, Co-founder, Citykart.

The rapid rollout comes amid sustained demand for value fashion in tier 2 and 3 markets, where consumers are increasingly seeking organised retail experiences without compromising on affordability. Citykart’s strategy is aligned with these evolving consumption patterns, with a focus on accessibility, relevance and operational agility, the company added. To support store performance and accelerate market penetration, the company is also deploying localised marketing initiatives, including transit branding and on-ground activations.

“Our goal is simple: to make fashion accessible to a much larger base of consumers across India. We see this as the early stages of a much larger journey, where organized value retail will continue to evolve and expand,” stated Rohit Agarwal, Co-founder, Citykart.
