Flipkart Elevates Kunal Gupta To SVP For Quick Commerce Biz: Report

The elevation comes at a time of intensifying competition in the quick commerce industry, with major players like Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy seeking to expand market share

Kunal Gupta, who currently heads the Minutes and Grocery business of Flipkart, has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP) of the quick commerce business. His elevation comes at a time when the company is looking to strengthen execution at scale.

Media reports noted that in an internal communication, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kalyan Krishnamurthy said that the progress of the company has been led by leaders who have the ability to navigate complexity and combine it with their strong business ownership.

Gupta has been credited with establishing sustainable, high-growth operations across categories, including mobiles, large appliances and fashion. He is also a key player in leading fashion’s return to growth, the company said, as per the reports.

The elevation comes at a time of intensifying competition in the quick commerce industry, with major players like Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy seeking to expand market share. New players like Amazon are also trying to scale rapidly in the segment to tap the rising demand.

Amazon India recently revealed that it plans to invest over Rs 2,800 crore (around USD 300 million) to further strengthen associate safety, health and financial well-being measures while strengthening India’s operations network.

Amazon will continue to expand both its core and quick commerce footprint. This investment builds on the company’s Rs 2,000 crore (around USD 233 million) investment in 2025, which enabled the opening of 17 new fulfilment centres, six sortation centres, and 75 last-mile delivery stations across India. In 2025, Amazon also launched its quick commerce offering, Amazon Now, and has since scaled it to over 300 micro-fulfilment centres across key cities.

Flipkart has also notified a fresh round of senior leadership promotions across its grocery, travel, appliances and policy verticals. Anurag Nair, who currently leads small home appliances and large appliances, has been promoted to drive category growth and lead strategic initiatives including RFQ-based procurement and the ‘Happy Attack’ program, the reports noted.

Cleartrip’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) Gaurav Patwari, has also been promoted after the platform reported healthy growth over the past four years. Currently leading Enterprise Business Solutions for the Flipkart Group, Nishitkumar Mehta has been recognised for driving finance and HR transformation initiatives, the reports highlighted.
