Krishna succeeds Mainak Dhar, who moves to an expanded leadership role, while Avishek Kar takes charge as commercial director
McCain Foods India has appointed Aditya Krishna as its managing director, succeeding Mainak Dhar, who will move into an expanded leadership role within the company. Avishek Kar has also been elevated to commercial director, replacing Krishna in the position. The company has not disclosed details of Dhar’s new assignment.
In his new role, Krishna will focus on strengthening McCain India’s engagement with potato growers and supporting the development of potato varieties for French fries suited to Indian growing conditions. He will also oversee the company’s efforts to expand its contribution to the food processing industry and initiatives involving communities where McCain operates.
Krishna brings nearly two decades of sales and marketing experience across India and Southeast Asia from his time with Mondelez International. He joined McCain India more than three years ago as commercial director, where his responsibilities included retail business growth, brand development and initiatives involving consumer-focused product development.
“It is a privilege to lead McCain Foods India at this important stage of our journey,” Krishna said. He added that his priorities would include building on the company’s existing operations, growing the category, strengthening the McCain brand and creating long-term value for potato growers, customers, consumers and communities associated with the company.
Kar has held several positions at McCain India and will now take charge of the commercial function. His elevation follows Krishna’s appointment as managing director and comes with experience across different roles within the company. McCain has not provided further details on Dhar’s expanded leadership responsibilities or his specific new position.
