Non-metros Dominate Sales Event’s Opening Weekend, Claims Meesho

The company witnessed around 24 crore customers visiting the platform during the opening weekend

Registering a healthy response from customers, the opening weekend of Meesho’s Mega Blockbuster Sale 2025 saw 74 per cent of demand come from tier 2+ markets. The company witnessed around 24 crore customers visiting the platform in three days.

“We witnessed around 29,000 orders placed every minute across categories such as fashion, home and kitchen, personal care and beauty, and electronic accessories, and prepaid orders rising around 54 per cent year-on-year, reflecting the surge in digital payments,” according to a Meesho spokesperson.

The company noted that customers also drove substantial engagement on its in-app video format, ‘video finds,’ generating around 39 crore views and making content commerce a powerful driver of product discovery. Top-selling products ranged from kurtis, bedsheets, lipsticks, puja items, wallpaper, and selfie sticks to perfumes for men, showing the wide spectrum of festive demand.

Over 48,000 sellers recorded more than double order growth compared to business-as-usual days, the company added. Meesho Mall, the company’s branded shopping destination, witnessed a strong influx of consumers who shopped for brands across beauty, electronic accessories, footwear, and apparel during the first three days of the sale.

In an earlier development, Meesho had notified the enablement of around 12 lakh seasonal job opportunities within its seller and logistics network, with more than 70 per cent of these coming from tier three and tier four regions. This represents around a 40 per cent increase in seasonal jobs compared to last year.

Meesho continues to work with prominent third-party logistics (3PL) providers. These logistics partnerships along with Valmo have helped generate around 6.7 lakh seasonal job opportunities, around 90 per cent growth over last year’s festive season hiring in logistics. The roles will largely involve first-mile, middle-mile, and delivery associates, responsible for duties such as picking, sorting, loading, unloading, and handling returns.
