The investment strengthens Surya Roshni’s manufacturing footprint, drives green energy adoption, and supports rural empowerment initiatives

Surya Roshni, one of India’s most trusted names in Lighting, Fans, Home Appliances, Steel, and PVC pipes, has announced an investment of Rs 1,800 crore towards its nationwide expansion and sustainability initiatives. The move reinforces the company’s focus on technological innovation, clean energy, and community development.
Of the total investment, Rs 500 crore has been allocated to operations in Madhya Pradesh, strengthening its presence in the Gwalior–Chambal region. Over the past three years, Surya Roshni has already invested around Rs 150 crore in the state, with another Rs 300 crore currently under implementation — signalling the company’s continued confidence in the region’s growth potential.
As part of its strategic expansion, Surya Roshni is diversifying its product portfolio. Following the successful launch of its Wires and Cables division, the company plans to begin manufacturing MCBs and other electrical products, enhancing its presence in the consumer electrical segment.
In line with its sustainability roadmap, the company has also invested Rs 10 crore in solar power installations at its Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh) and Kashipur (Uttarakhand) facilities. These renewable energy projects underscore Surya Roshni’s commitment to clean, self-reliant, and energy-efficient manufacturing and reducing its carbon footprint.
Commenting on the announcement, Vasumitra Pandey, CEO – Lighting & Consumer Durables, Surya Roshni, said, “Surya Roshni is moving ahead with a larger goal of combining innovation with responsibility. Our focus is to develop solutions that help reduce electricity costs while ensuring complete adherence to environmental and sustainability principles. Beyond manufacturing, we are also empowering rural India by adopting 120 villages, where we are helping women become self-reliant through employment opportunities. Our effort is to bring the light of progress and hope into every household — just like the rays of the sun.”
Through continuous investment, innovation, and social impact programmes, Surya Roshni continues to illuminate homes, empower communities, and strengthen India’s sustainable growth journey.
Founded in 1973, Surya Roshni has evolved into a diversified conglomerate spanning Lighting & Consumer Durables and Steel Pipes & Strips. The company entered the lighting segment in 1984, PVC pipes in 2010, and consumer durables in 2014–15, later expanding into the Wires & Cables segment in 2025 with its Turbo Flex range. With a revenue exceeding Rs 8,000 crore and a vast pan-India dealer network, Surya Roshni stands among the country’s largest manufacturers of GI and ERW pipes and a leading lighting solutions provider.
