In an effort to strengthen its fulfilment and logistics network to provide services across every serviceable pin-code in the country, Amazon India has notified about the creation of more than 1,10,000 seasonal job opportunities across its operations network ahead of the upcoming festive season.

The company has hired thousands of women associates as well as close to 1,900 PWD (persons with disabilities) into its existing network, with the majority of them being already onboarded.

“A number of these associates continue to work with Amazon even after the festive season and many others return year after year to work with Amazon. Our focus remains on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our associates, whether they are working in our buildings or out making deliveries to customers,” stated Abhinav Singh, Vice-president – Operations, Amazon India.

These opportunities include direct and indirect jobs across India in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai, among others. In addition, the company runs Sushruta program which offers comprehensive healthcare support to truck drivers through early detection, diagnosis, and health camps across key regions.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports shared his thoughts and said, “Amazon’s commitment to create over 1 lakh seasonal employment opportunities across India is a commendable step towards bolstering the nation’s workforce during the festive period. It is encouraging to see the company hiring a significant number of women and persons with disabilities for these roles while prioritizing the well-being of its associates through initiatives focused on their safety, healthcare, and educational support.”

Recently, Amazon introduced project Ashray, which offers dedicated resting points for delivery associates across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The company introduced the Pratidhi Scholarship which provides scholarships to associates’ children for quality education as part of its efforts regarding the well-being of associates.
