Luxury chocolate brand introduces a new 64% dark chocolate collection featuring nuts, berries and citrus inclusions as demand for premium and mindful indulgence rises in India
ITC’s luxury chocolate brand Fabelle has expanded its premium confectionery portfolio with the launch of a new 64 per cent Ghana-Origin Dark Chocolate range, as growing numbers of Indian consumers gravitate towards richer cocoa flavours, cleaner ingredient profiles and more mindful indulgence.
The new collection, unveiled on Thursday, is crafted using premium Ghana-origin cocoa, widely recognised for its distinctive aroma and depth of flavour. The company said the range reflects its focus on advanced chocolate-making techniques, including precise cocoa sourcing, ultra-fine particle size technology and extended conching processes designed to enhance texture, flavour and mouthfeel.
The launch comes amid a broader shift in consumer preferences, with dark chocolate increasingly moving from a niche segment to a mainstream premium indulgence category. Industry trends indicate that consumers are seeking products that offer both indulgence and perceived wellness benefits, while paying closer attention to ingredient quality and transparency.
The new range includes a variety of dark chocolate bars and pralines built around 64 per cent Ghana cocoa. Products include Cranberry Noir, which pairs dark chocolate with cranberry notes; Orange Eclipse, featuring citrus-infused flavours; and a No Added Sugar Dark Chocolate Bar aimed at consumers seeking a purer cocoa experience.
Fabelle has also introduced Dark Symphony, a collection of 10 handcrafted pralines made without added sugar and featuring ingredients such as almond, macadamia, pecan, hazelnut and pistachio.
Commenting on the launch, Subash Balar, Business Head – Confectionery, Chocolates & Coffee at ITC Ltd, said Indian consumers are increasingly redefining indulgence.
“The modern Indian consumer is rethinking indulgence, seeking greater transparency, balance and choice without giving up on experience. This is evident in the rapid growth of dark chocolate in India, which industry reports indicate has more than doubled over the past five years, outpacing traditional milk chocolate. Alongside this, demand for no added sugar options continues to rise,” he said.
According to Balar, the new range is part of Fabelle’s broader strategy to foster a more refined chocolate culture in India and cater to evolving consumer tastes.
India’s premium chocolate segment has witnessed steady growth in recent years, driven by rising disposable incomes, increased exposure to global food trends and growing demand for artisanal and high-cocoa-content products. Manufacturers have increasingly introduced premium offerings featuring single-origin cocoa, exotic flavour combinations and reduced-sugar formulations to tap into this trend.
Fabelle said the new 64 per cent Dark Chocolate range will be available through its boutiques in select cities as well as on its online platform, Fabelle.in.
The launch further strengthens ITC’s presence in India’s premium chocolate market, where competition has intensified as consumers increasingly seek sophisticated, experience-led indulgence options.
