The proposed facility in the Una district is expected to generate 450 direct jobs and expand the company’s food processing footprint in the state
Frozen food producer Amar Pure Gold on Thursday said it has entered into a memorandum of commitment with the Himachal Pradesh government to set up an agro-food park, involving an investment of Rs 250 crore.
The proposed project will come up on 100 acres in Una district and is projected to generate around 450 direct jobs, besides creating indirect employment opportunities across agricultural procurement, logistics and packaging, the Chandigarh-based company said in a statement.
The development adds to Amar Pure Gold’s ongoing expansion in the state, where it is constructing a 25-acre integrated food park at Nalagarh.
Focused on frozen Indian sweets, snacks and ready-to-eat products, the company currently runs manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Haryana, and has plans to establish new units in Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Amar Pure Gold has an export presence in the United States, Canada, Australia and more than 10 other international markets.
The company is part of the diversified Amar Group, which also has interests in flour milling, steel and retail, including a network of over 45 Captain Sam’s Pizza outlets.
