The QSR chain has more than 100 outlets in Delhi NCR, with its latest restaurant opening in GTB Nagar
Burger King India has crossed 600 restaurants, with its latest outlet in Delhi’s GTB Nagar taking the quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain’s presence to more than 140 cities across the country. The milestone comes 12 years after Burger King opened its first Indian restaurant in Saket, Delhi, in 2014.
The chain now has more than 100 restaurants across Delhi NCR, according to Restaurant Brands Asia (RBA), Burger King’s national master franchisee in India. The company has expanded its network across both metropolitan and emerging cities since entering the Indian market.
Burger King’s India network has been built alongside investments in its supply chain, menu development and digital ordering infrastructure. The company has also expanded into adjacent consumption occasions through its BK Café business.
Menu innovation has been another part of the chain’s India strategy, with the company offering products beyond its core burger range. Its portfolio includes the Whopper, burgers, wraps, snacks, desserts and beverages, while limited-period offerings have included Korean and Peri-Peri ranges.
Rajeev Varman, Group CEO and Whole-Time Director, Restaurant Brands Asia, said the 600th restaurant marks the contribution of the company’s customers, vendor partners and employees. He added that the company is working on efficiencies to support its expansion.
The GTB Nagar outlet marks the return of the milestone to Delhi, where Burger King opened its first Indian restaurant. The new outlet offers the chain’s existing menu across burgers, wraps, snacks, desserts and beverages.
Restaurant Brands Asia holds the exclusive national master franchise rights for Burger King in India. Through its subsidiaries, the company also holds the national master franchise rights for Burger King and Popeyes in Indonesia.
Globally, Burger King has more than 19,700 locations across over 120 markets.
