Snacks and beverages major PepsiCo India has inaugurated its flavour manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening its ‘Partnership of Progress’ in the country. With an investment of Rs 1,266 crore, the facility is expected to serve as a catalyst for industrial development, job creation and ancillary business growth across central India.
The 22-acre facility marks the company’s second flavour manufacturing plant in India and will manufacture beverage concentrates for PepsiCo’s iconic beverage portfolio. With the potential to generate approximately 500 direct and indirect employment opportunities, the facility will strengthen region’s socio-economic development, the company added.

The plant is a symbol of technological progress and world-class innovation in the space of beverage manufacturing,” stated Jagrut Kotecha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PepsiCo India and South Asia.
Strengthening The Supply Chain
The Ujjain plant is part of PepsiCo’s investment commitment pipeline of Rs 5,700 crore in India through 2030, aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening supply chains, enhancing sustainability capabilities and supporting long-term growth in one of the company’s key anchor markets.

The plant will operate entirely on renewable electricity energy sourced from renewable generation sources and is designed for zero liquid discharge technology and industry-leading water efficiency measures. As part of PepsiCo operations, efforts will be directed towards replenishing 100 per cent of the water used at the facility.
