Popeyes Expands Punjab Footprint To Nine Restaurants

Strong consumer response drives Popeyes’ expansion into Mohali, Ludhiana and Patiala as the Louisiana-born fried chicken brand deepens its presence across Punjab

Popeyes®, the Louisiana-born fried chicken brand operated in India by Jubilant FoodWorks, is expanding its presence across Punjab, taking its restaurant footprint in the state to nine outlets as it seeks to capitalise on strong consumer response.

The brand has opened new locations at 3B2 Food Spot in Mohali and Nexus MBD Neopolis Mall in Ludhiana, while its upcoming outlet at Leela Bhawan in Patiala will further strengthen its presence across three key Punjab cities.

Consumer Response Drives Expansion
Popeyes said its Punjab growth has been supported by strong consumer interest in its signature chicken offerings, with the Chicken Sandwich emerging as a favourite among customers in the state.

Its six Bold International flavours of Wings have also recorded the highest repeat trials among consumers in Punjab, indicating growing demand for the brand’s distinctive fried chicken offering.

“Punjab has emerged as an important growth market for Popeyes®, with the response reflecting a strong affinity for our bold, flavour-forward offering,” said Vibhor Gupta, EVP and Chief Business Officer, Popeyes®, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited.

“The consumer connect we have built here gives us confidence in the opportunity to establish a deeper presence across the state and make Popeyes® a more familiar part of the local food landscape,” he added.

Brand Builds Local Cultural Connect
Alongside its restaurant expansion, Popeyes has partnered with Punjabi artists Babbal Rai and Aarushi Sharma as part of a digital-first social media integration around its ‘Punjab Vich Chhaa Gaye Oye!’ campaign.

The collaboration aims to strengthen the brand’s cultural connect in Punjab by bringing together the artists’ Punjabi association with Popeyes’ growing presence in the state.

Gupta said the campaign reflects the energy and enthusiasm the company is seeing around the brand as it expands across Punjab.

Louisiana-Inspired Menu
Popeyes is known globally for its Louisiana-inspired flavours and fried chicken. Its signature chicken is marinated for 12 hours before being hand-battered and breaded.

Its India menu includes the Chicken Sandwich, Signature Fried Chicken, Boneless Chicken with International flavours, Hot & Messy range, flavour Burst Burgers, Cajun Chicken Tenders and Chicken Popcorn.

The brand has also introduced newer offerings such as the Dip N’ Drip range and Paneer burgers.

Jubilant FoodWorks Targets Priority Markets
Jubilant FoodWorks said Popeyes is on a focused growth path in India, expanding across priority markets through consumer-focused offerings and retail locations.

The company operates Popeyes in India as part of its wider portfolio, which includes franchise rights for Domino’s, Popeyes and Dunkin’, as well as its own brands Hong’s Kitchen and COFFY in Turkey.

JFL Group has a network of more than 3,500 stores across India, Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan and Georgia, according to the company.

With the latest Punjab expansion, Popeyes is seeking to build on its consumer traction in the state while bringing its Louisiana-inspired menu and brand experience to a wider customer base.
