Starbucks Celebrates 100th Mumbai Store With Exclusive Flavours

Honouring Mumbai’s iconic street culture, Starbucks introduces exclusive beverages and food collaborations with Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh’s Imagine Foods to celebrate its 100th store opening in the city

Tata Starbucks is celebrating a significant milestone in Mumbai as it opens its 100th store in the city that has been central to the brand’s journey in India over the past 12 years. As the company steps into 2025, it honours Mumbai’s indomitable spirit and cultural vibrancy, which have been integral to shaping Tata Starbucks’ presence in the country.

From the inaugural store at Horniman Circle to the first Starbucks Reserve store in India, Starbucks has grown alongside Mumbai, offering an array of premium coffee experiences. Today, the city is home to some of Starbucks’ most innovative locations, including its experiential store in Dhanraj Mahal, Colaba, offering sixteen varieties of coffee.

Sushant Dash, CEO of Tata Starbucks, shared, “Marking our 100th store in Mumbai is more than just a milestone; it is a celebration of the enduring bond we share with this incredible city. Mumbai has been at the heart of our journey in India, inspiring us with its energy, diversity, and relentless spirit. This city has allowed us to grow and innovate, and as we look to the future, we are excited to continue bringing unique coffee experiences to this great city while honouring the stories that Mumbai has helped us create.”

Innovative Tribute to Mumbai
To commemorate the occasion, Starbucks is launching two exclusive beverages that reflect Mumbai’s distinctive and rich flavour culture. Inspired by the city’s love for street-side snacks and dramatic flair, these beverages are crafted to surprise and delight:

Bombón Cloud: A creamy and indulgent beverage featuring condensed milk, ristretto shots, and coconut-flavoured foam. Served in a chic cortado glass, it embodies Mumbai’s flair for the dramatic.

Kala Khatta Cold Brew: A twist on the nostalgic kaala khatta golas from the streets of Chowpatty, infused with Starbucks’ signature arabica cold brew. Icy, zesty, and refreshing, it offers nostalgia in every sip.

In a move to amplify this celebration, Bollywood couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, founders of Imagine Foods, have partnered with Starbucks to elevate Mumbai’s iconic street food culture. Together, they’ve crafted unique food offerings inspired by the city’s beloved snacks:

Reverse Vada Pav: A reinvented vada pav, with a perfectly spiced vada in a soft, buttery brioche bun, complemented by zesty garlic chutney and creamy thecha aioli.

Pav Bhaji Pull-Apart: Soft pull-apart buns filled with comforting, spicy pav bhaji flavours, perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.

Kheema Danish: Flaky pastry filled with spicy kheema, bringing together bold and buttery flavours that capture Mumbai’s culinary essence.

“Mumbai’s vibrant energy and rich culinary heritage make it a city unlike any other. Through our collaboration with Starbucks, we’ve had the opportunity to infuse innovation into iconic street flavours. The bold Reverse Vada Pav, the comforting Pav Bhaji Pull-Apart, and the indulgent Kheema Danish are not just creations; they’re a tribute to the spirit of Mumbai and its love for food. We’re delighted to bring these unique offerings to life, celebrating the city’s essence in every bite and sip,” shared Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, Founders of Imagine Foods.

Anamika Khanna + Starbucks Collection
As part of the celebrations, Starbucks has teamed up with renowned designer Anamika Khanna to create an exclusive merchandise collection. The collaboration showcases Mumbai’s unique character through its artistic designs, paying tribute to the city’s eclectic spirit. The Anamika Khanna + Starbucks collection will be available later this month in select Starbucks stores across 16 key locations, including Bandra, Colaba, Worli, and Juhu, giving customers the opportunity to own a piece of this artistic homage to Mumbai.
