The findings from the latest report suggested that about 90 per cent of the business leaders in India are planning to invest significantly in AI and generative AI.
It added that Indian leaders are also interested in other investments such as 92 per cent in Cloud, 73 per cent in cybersecurity and 71 per cent in digital twins and immersive technologies for industrial applications.
The Capgemini study highlighted that 56 per cent of global business leaders retain confidence in their organisation’s future growth, despite current macroeconomic headwinds. This figure has risen from 42 percent recorded a year ago. However, less than a third of them are optimistic about the global operating environment. This confidence was found among 53 per cent of Indian business leaders who vested a positive outlook for 2024, the study noted.
The outlook was further supported by artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (Gen AI) with about 88 per cent of business leaders planning to focus on the technology to drive innovation and unlock revenue growth.
The study stressed the significance of cybersecurity, revealing that 50 per cent of the Indian leaders surveyed believe that cybersecurity is a top risk to business growth compared to the 61 percent of business leaders who viewed cybersecurity threats as a primary. This assumption has risen by 39 per cent in comparison to 2023.
Shedding light on the business leaders’ investment across the globe, the report said that 57 per cent of them intend to increase their funds in clean tech in the US over the next 2-3 years due to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The same proportion plans to increase their investment in EU cleantech as a direct result of the Green Deal Industrial Plan.
Underlining the Indian segment, the report revealed that 82 per cent of business heads in India were interested in increasing their investment in digital tools and technologies in 2024.
Furthermore, the study shifted its lens toward deliberative analysis, it said 28 per cent of Indian respondents believe that critical decision-making is likely to use AI in their organisation. This is to happen in the coming five years, while 17 per cent of respondents affirmed that they are already using AI for the same.
Moreover, another important finding of the study includes that 37 per cent of the Indian business leaders and 48 per cent of the global business leaders are expecting climate change to be the main cause of operational disruption in the future.
This report was based on the survey of 2,000 respondents from firms with more than USD 1 billion in annual revenue across 10 industries and 15 countries such as the US, UK, France, Germany, China, Japan, Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Brazil, Spain, India, Australia, Sweden and Singapore in November 2023.
