Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL), on Wednesday, reported a rise of 16 per cent in consolidated revenue from operations in the third quarter ended December 2023 despite muted demand, it said in a regulatory filing.
In Q3 FY24, the company recorded consolidated revenue from operations at Rs 4,167 crore compared to Rs 3,589 crore in Q3 FY23, as per the BSE filing.
Despite this, it faced a consolidated net loss of Rs 107.60 crore in Q3 FY24, contrasting with the Rs 11.21 crore consolidated net profit reported in the previous year.
ABFRL experienced a 29 per cent growth in EBITDA, reaching Rs 605 crore in Q3 FY24, compared to Rs 467 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. The EBITDA margin expanded from 13 per cent in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year to 14.5 per cent in Q3 FY24.
As of 31 December 2023, the company boasted a network of 4,753 stores spread across approximately 37,106 multi-brand outlets, with 9,781 point-of-sales in department stores throughout India.
ABFRL said that it achieved a resilient performance in the overall quarterly results, emphasising robust operating fundamentals even in the face of a challenging business environment.

Presently, ABFRL boasts a portfolio featuring India’s largest brands, including Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Peter England, with a legacy spanning over 25 years. Pantaloons, one of India’s prominent fashion retailers, is also part of its diverse brand offerings.
In the international brands segment, ABFRL holds The Collective, recognised as one of India’s largest multi-brand retailers of international brands. The company has established enduring exclusive partnerships with renowned brands such as Ralph Lauren, Hackett London, Ted Baker, Fred Perry, Forever 21, American Eagle, Simon Carter, Reebok, and Galeries Lafayette.
ABFRL has recently ventured into the branded ethnic wear business, introducing brands like Jaypore, Tasva, and Marigold Lane. The company has strategically partnered with prominent designers such as ‘Shantnu & Nikhil,’ ‘Tarun Tahiliani,’ ‘Sabyasachi,’ and ‘House of Masaba.’
In September 2023, ABFRL completed the acquisition of a 51 per cent stake in TCNS Clothing. TCNS stands as India’s leading women’s branded ethnic apparel company, specializing in the design, marketing, and retailing of a diverse portfolio of women’s branded apparel across brands like W, Aurelia, Wishful, Elleven, and Folksong.
