Apple To Temporarily Sell Smartwatches After US ITC Lifts Import Ban

Apple Appeals Against ITC Ban On Certain Apple Watches

Apple is reportedly allowed to resume the import of its smartwatches by the US International Trade Commission (ITC), on Wednesday. The tech major was recently restricted from its flagship devices import after medical monitoring tech company Masimo allegedly accused Apple of incorporating its oximetry technology into the popular Apple Watch.

Following this, the tech giant sought the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to halt an order from ITC, which had ruled that Apple had infringed the patents of Masimo.

Relieved by the ITC’s decision Apple said, it is thrilled and is looking forward to delivering the full Apple Watch lineup to customers in time for the new year.

Apple’s official statement suggested that the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, including the blood oxygen feature, will now be available for purchase again in the United States at Apple Stores and website.

Masimo has not yet commented on the court’s decision.
