Under the incubation component of the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) innovative scheme, the Centre has approved 533 ideas for nurturing and development with an amount of only Rs 43.30 crore during the last three years.
Minister of State for MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in a written reply to the Lok Sabha said that under the Ministry of MSME, there are ten tool rooms (TR) and eight technology development centres (TDC) functioning to provide consultancy and R&D to MSMEs.
Further, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) supports entrepreneurs through its programs all over India, where infrastructure and the creation of lab facilities are supported to help entrepreneurs convert their ideas into marketable products, he added.
In Madhya Pradesh, DST has supported four incubators, out of which two in Bhopal have been supported through the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) program and two incubators in Indore have been supported through the NIDHI-iTBI Programme.
Under Atal Incubation Centres (AIC), 69 incubators have been operationalised across eight states and three UTs including Madhya Pradesh (Raisen and Indore).
“Under the MSME Innovative scheme six Ideas and 34 Host Institutes (HIs) are approved in the State of MP,” the minister stated.
