Coca-Cola India has launched Lemon-Dou, its inaugural alcoholic ready-to-drink beverage, marking the company’s foray into alcohol. Initial tests for Lemon-Dou are underway in Goa and select areas of Maharashtra.
The beverage, a part of Coca-Cola’s global portfolio and called ‘Chuhai’ in Japan, blends shochu, akin to brandy and vodka, with lime flavors, extending the company’s reach into the ready-to-drink alcohol segment.
During its initial launch in India, Lemon-Dou is priced at Rs 230 for a 250 ml can. The product is not limited to India; it’s expected to enter markets in China and the Philippines.
Additionally, through a partnership with Pernod Ricard, Coca-Cola plans to introduce Absolut vodka and Sprite as a pre-mixed cocktail by 2024, initially in the UK, Netherlands, Spain and Germany.
The concoction, named Absolut & Sprite, will combine Absolut premium vodka with Coca-Cola’s Sprite and Sprite Zero Sugar.
