Three-model lineup offers 4K recording, Sony Starvis, GPS tracking and ADAS safety alerts
Consumer electronics brand Boat on Friday said that it has entered into the automotive dashcam segment, expanding beyond audio and wearables with the introduction of the Hive Dashcam series. The new lineup comprises three in-car surveillance models priced between Rs 499 and Rs 9,990.
The range includes the Hive F1 with dual-channel 4K front and 1080p rear recording, the Hive M1 with 2K QHD capture, and the Hive E1 offering 1296p HD video. Select models are equipped with Sony STARVIS sensors for low-light recording, built-in GPS for speed and route tracking, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) alerts, the comapny said in the statement.
The devices also support G-sensor-based impact detection, motion-triggered parking surveillance and supercapacitor power systems designed for high-temperature automotive conditions.
“As we continue to expand Boat’s portfolio beyond audio and wearables, our entry into dashcams is a natural extension of our vision to build smart, meaningful tech for today’s consumers. With Indian roads becoming increasingly complex, dashcams are no longer a luxury but a necessity. At boAt, we aim to bring reliable, well-engineered and design-forward solutions that make everyday journeys safer and more confident,” said Gaurav Nayyar, CEO, Boat.
The flagship Hive F1 supports dual-channel recording with 4K Ultra HD front capture and 1080p Full HD rear recording. It uses Sony STARVIS sensors for improved low-light performance and includes Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as lane departure and forward collision alerts. The device also offers built-in GPS route logging, voice control and Wi-Fi connectivity for app access.
The Hive M1 records in 2K QHD resolution and is equipped with a 140-degree wide-angle lens. It includes GPS-based speed and route tracking, a G-sensor for automatic collision detection and emergency footage locking, and supports microSD storage of up to 512GB.
The entry-level Hive E1 offers 1296p HD recording and is aimed at daily commuters and commercial vehicle users. It features loop recording, automatic emergency triggers and Wi-Fi-based smartphone connectivity for footage access.
Across the series, Boat has included motion detection, parking surveillance and G-sensor-based impact recording. The dashcams use super capacitors instead of lithium-ion batteries, which are typically more heat-resistant for automotive environments.
The company said the devices are intended to assist with accident documentation, insurance claims and legal disputes by providing recorded visual evidence. Footage can be stored locally via microSD cards, with app-based management and optional cloud integration.
The Hive Dashcam F1, M1 and E1 are available through Boat’s website, Amazon, Flipkart and select offline retail stores. Introductory prices are Rs 9,990 for the F1, Rs 4,499 for the M1 and Rs 2,499 for the E1.
