British Beauty Brand Lush Opens First Store In Delhi

Cruelty-free cosmetics major debuts immersive retail experience at Nexus Select Citywalk, with Mumbai and Bengaluru next

British cosmetics brand Lush on Tuesday marked its formal entry into India’s physical retail market with the opening of its first-ever store at Nexus Select Citywalk in Saket, New Delhi, signalling a deeper commitment to one of the world’s fastest-growing beauty markets.

The launch follows the successful debut of Lush.in in November 2025 and represents a key milestone in the brand’s India expansion. Lush’s entry into the country is being executed through a strategic licence agreement with Bengaluru-based Bilberry Brands India Private Limited, which will initially focus on a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model alongside a curated brick-and-mortar presence.

The store was inaugurated by Vishal Anand, Founder and CEO of Bilberry Brands India, and Sophie Matheson, Senior Global Business Development Retail Manager at Lush. Designed to deliver the brand’s signature sensorial and immersive shopping experience, the outlet introduces Indian consumers to Lush’s globally recognised retail format for the first time. The company said it plans to open two more stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru over the coming months as part of a broader omni-channel strategy.

Commenting on the launch, Anand said the opening marked the beginning of a long-term commitment to building Lush in India. He noted that Indian consumers are increasingly seeking transparency, ethical sourcing and authenticity in beauty products, values that are central to the Lush brand. He added that the company aims to celebrate handmade craftsmanship, fresh ingredients and conscious beauty as it expands its footprint in the country.

Matheson said a Lush store is designed to be more than a retail space, offering customers a close-up experience of creativity and ethical beauty. She added that the Delhi store would showcase a comprehensive range of the brand’s globally popular products across skincare, haircare, bath and body, and fragrance, while fostering a local community aligned with Lush’s sustainability-led ethos.

Nirzar Jain, President – Leasing at Nexus Select Malls, said the launch of Lush at Nexus Select Citywalk strengthens the mall’s positioning as a destination for premium global brands and experiential retail.

Indian customers will have access to a wide portfolio of products, including fresh face masks, solid shampoo bars, seasonal limited editions and the brand’s iconic bath bombs. Invented by Lush co-founder Mo Constantine in 1989, bath bombs have become a global phenomenon, with more than 21.2 million units sold annually worldwide.

Founded in the UK in 1995, Lush operates in over 50 countries with more than 850 stores globally. The brand is widely known for its focus on sustainability, cruelty-free formulations and activism-driven initiatives. In August 2024, Lush crossed £100 million in charitable giving, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to social and environmental causes.
