The partnership with Max Mara Fashion Group marks Reliance Brands’ latest move to expand its global fashion portfolio in India
Reliance Brands has signed a long-term master franchise agreement with Italy’s Max Mara Fashion Group to introduce its contemporary women’s label Max&Co. to India. The brand’s debut outlet is expected to open in Mumbai in early 2026, with plans to expand to other major Indian cities soon after, Reliance Brands said in a statement.
The store will feature the complete Max&Co. collection, including clothing, accessories, and its seasonal collaboration lines.
“Max&Co. embodies a bold, modern expression of femininity — dynamic, joyful, and unapologetically individual — a spirit that deeply resonates with the evolving style and confidence of Indian women,” said Isha Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Retail Ventures.
She added that the brand’s mix of Italian craftsmanship and youthful energy “will have significant appeal for the Indian woman … Through our partnership with Max Mara Fashion Group, we are proud to bring this iconic global brand to India and shape a new chapter in contemporary women’s fashion,” Ambani said.
Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, divisional director of Max&Co. and board member of Max Mara Fashion Group, said the partnership aligns with the group’s global ambitions. “We are pleased to join forces with Reliance Brands, whose strong experience in building and nurturing global premium brands makes them an ideal match for Max&Co. in the region,” she said.
She added that India “represents a vibrant and forward-thinking market that shares Max&Co.’s passion for creativity, style, and self-expression. Our future mission is to inspire a new community of women who live with confidence, curiosity, and a cool, modern attitude.”
