Devyani International Opens Its First New York Fries Store In India

In India, the menu features global favourites like classic fries and hot dogs, loaded fries, loaded hot dogs and complete meal combos

Devyani International (DIL), a quick service restaurant (QSR) chain which is the largest franchisee for Yum Brands (KFC and Pizza Hut) in India, has inaugurated its first New York Fries (NYF) store in India, located at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.

Established in 1983 in Canada, NYF uses whole premium potatoes, cooked skin-on, as per the official statement. In India, the menu features global favourites like classic fries and hot dogs, loaded fries, loaded hot dogs and complete meal combos, along with a curated range of pure vegetarian options.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of DIL’s first NYF store in India—a major milestone for DIL as we introduce the global favourite in fries to the Indian market. We are confident that customers will be just as excited about NYF’s signature offerings, including the loaded fresh fries and delicious loaded hot dogs, known and loved around the world,” stated Ravi Jaipuria, Non-Executive Chairman, Devyani International.

NYF, a Canadian QSR brand specialises in premium quality fries and poutine. Located in all major Canadian malls, the 140-unit food court chain has expanded to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and most recently, the United States (US). New York Fries is wholly owned by Recipe Unlimited Corporation, Canada’s oldest and largest full-service restaurant company.

“With DIL’s unmatched expertise in building and scaling international F&B brands across the country, DIL is playing a pivotal role in introducing New York Fries to Indian consumers and setting the stage for NYF’s rapid growth in this dynamic market,” highlighted Dave Colebrook, President, NYF.

As far as DIL’s operations are concerned, it operates over 2,000 stores across brands in over 280 cities in India, Nigeria, Nepal and Thailand, as on 31 December 2024. It is also the sole franchisee for Costa Coffee Brand and stores in India.
