The report states that this is a temporary closure, and the company is likely to resume the services by September after addressing the logistical challenges
As the company is working towards resolving the supply chain issues to meet the surge in demand, Zepto, a quick commerce platform, has temporarily shut operations in around 40 cafes in and around Delhi, news agency PTI reported.
The report highlighted that the pause in operations is on a temporary basis, and the company is likely to resume the services by September after addressing the logistical challenges. The company was witnessing a surge in demand which was not matching the vendor availability, the report noted.
Emphasising that the move impacts around 100 people, the report added that the company has offered the impacted people the choice to shift to nearby stores or kitchens. The company is looking to retain them when the temporary pause gets over, as per the report.
As far as the communication is concerned, the report mentioned that the information regarding the temporary closure was conveyed to the affected employees on 20 April and the company had given them a month to decide the next step of whether to transfer to nearby locations. (With PTI Inputs)
