Maggi Celebrates The Journey Behind Its Iconic Masala

New campaign highlights the farmers, sourcing network and quality processes that help create the signature Maggi taste enjoyed by millions across India

Maggi is celebrating the story behind its iconic masala with a new campaign that shines a spotlight on the farmers, sourcing practices and quality standards that help create the brand’s distinctive taste.

Known for its unmistakable aroma and masaledaar flavour, Maggi has long held a special place in Indian households. Through the campaign, the brand is highlighting the journey of the spices that contribute to its signature taste, tracing their path from farms across India to consumers’ kitchens.

The company works with more than 4,500 spice farmers across 128 villages in seven states to cultivate and source the ten key spices that go into Maggi masala. These include cumin, fenugreek, coriander, aniseed, turmeric, black pepper, chilli, ginger, cardamom and nutmeg.

According to the brand, the spices are carefully farmed, sourced from different regions of the country and slow-roasted before undergoing 157 quality checks. The process is designed to ensure that every packet of Maggi masala delivers the consistency, flavour and quality that consumers associate with the brand.

Commenting on the campaign, Rupali Rattan, Head – Foods Business, said: “Maggi masala has been at the heart of the brand’s iconic taste for over five decades. Behind this taste lies a deep commitment to our consumers to give them high quality and taste every time. This story is a tribute to the thousands of farmers who make it possible and a celebration of the partnerships that help us deliver the taste consumers love and trust.”

The campaign also underscores Maggi’s focus on sustainable sourcing. Through its spice procurement programme, the company supports agricultural practices aimed at strengthening farmer resilience while promoting the cultivation of high-quality spices.

At a time when consumers are increasingly interested in where their food comes from, the campaign seeks to highlight the people and processes behind one of India’s most recognisable food products. By showcasing its extensive sourcing network and long-standing partnerships with farming communities, Maggi is celebrating not just its signature masala, but also the collective effort that helps bring its iconic taste to millions of homes across the country.
