New protein-infused cold foam brings functional nutrition to everyday Starbucks coffee moments
Starbucks India has partnered with health and nutrition brand SuperYou to introduce Protein Cold Foam, a new addition designed to seamlessly blend protein into consumers’ everyday coffee routines. The product, powered by SuperYou’s Pro Yeast Protein developed using advanced biofermentation technology, is now available across Starbucks outlets in India.
The launch reflects a growing shift among Indian consumers towards practical, everyday wellness, where health goals are integrated into existing habits rather than driven by extreme lifestyle changes. Starbucks India said the new offering allows customers to add protein to their favourite cold beverages without altering the familiarity or comfort of their coffee rituals.
The collaboration combines Starbucks’ expertise in the fast-growing iced coffee and cold foam category with SuperYou’s next-generation yeast protein, which is light on digestion, low in calories and designed for daily consumption. The Protein Cold Foam is available in chocolate, banana and vanilla flavours, complementing the flavour profiles of Starbucks’ signature beverages.
As part of a limited-edition menu, customers can opt for beverages delivering 11 to 18 grams of protein, depending on cup size. The lineup includes Cold Brew with Chocolate Protein Cold Foam, Caramel Frappuccino® with Banana Protein Cold Foam, and Iced Latte with Vanilla Protein Cold Foam. In addition, customers can customise their preferred cold beverages—ranging from iced Americanos and iced coffees to cold brews and Frappuccino® drinks—by adding the Protein Cold Foam. Zero-sugar flavour options are also available for those seeking lighter choices.
Commenting on the launch, Sushant Dash, CEO, Tata Starbucks, said consumer attitudes towards health are evolving. “Wellness today is about everyday choices that feel achievable. With Protein Cold Foam, we wanted to create an option that fits naturally into existing coffee rituals, without asking customers to change what they love,” he said.
Nikunj Biyani, Co-Founder, SuperYou, said the partnership aligns with the brand’s mission to make protein consumption more accessible in India. “Coffee is one of the most ingrained daily rituals. Partnering with Starbucks gives us the scale and trust to make protein part of everyday life, without compromising on taste or experience,” he noted.
The introduction of Protein Cold Foam marks another milestone in Starbucks India’s Health Forward journey, reinforcing its focus on choice, customisation and evolving lifestyle needs, while preserving the warmth and familiarity of the Starbucks experience.
