Ecommerce major Flipkart has collaborated with multiple state transport corporations and private aggregators to offer bus booking on its application in addition to the flight and hotel booking services that have been available on Flipkart Travel.
The company’s new service will offer the option for 10 lakh bus connections with connectivity to over 25,000 routes across India.
The key features of the bus booking will include access to deals, no convenience fees or hidden charges and offers through supercoins redemption up to Rs 50. The service will also be enhanced by a customer voice helpline which will be active 24×7.
Additionally, as a launch offer, consumers will have the privilege to experience a flat 15 per cent discount, with a 5 per cent additional concession on SuperCoins, for every bus booking made till 15 April 2024.
In a statement, Ajay Veer Yadav, Senior Vice President, Flipkart said this new service marks the company’s entry towards a journey of offering all consumer needs, including travel.
He stressed Flipkart’s presence in tier 2 and tier 3 cities has been an enabler to provide customers with a convenient and reliable solution for their inter-city travel needs.
Meanwhile, recently the company also introduced a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service on its application for both online and offline payments. The move was to reduce the reliance on third-party UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay.
