Robin Zaccheus, a Hyderabad resident, saw a live worm moving in a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate he purchased from a shop near Ameerpet metro station on Friday.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Robin shared a video of the worm-infested chocolate bar as well as the receipt for the Rs 45 Cadbury he purchased from the Ratnadeep Retail store near the metro station.
“Found a worm crawling in Cadbury chocolate purchased at Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet today. Is there a quality check for these near to expiry products? Who is responsible for public health hazards?, ”Robin wrote on X.

The images prompted varied reactions from social media users.
In response to the viral post, Cadbury Dairy Milk wrote, “Hi, Mondelez India Foods Private Limited (formerly Cadbury India Ltd) endeavours to maintain the highest quality standards, and we regret to note that you have had an unpleasant experience. In a separate response, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said, “The Concerned Food Safety team @AFCGHMC have been alerted on this issue and the same will be resolved at the earliest.”
Internet users flooded the comment section, expressing their disappointment. One user suggested, to consider taking legal action and claiming compensation.
“Raise a grievance to the Cadbury team. Will come to collect the sample and investigate.” Another user added.
