Quick commerce platform begins on-demand delivery of HPCL’s new 10 kg HP Navya composite LPG cylinder and 5 kg metal cylinder
Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation or HPCL to offer on-demand LPG cylinder deliveries through its quick commerce platform, beginning with Bengaluru. Customers can now order HPCL’s newly launched 10 kg HP Navya composite LPG cylinder and the 5 kg metal LPG cylinder directly through the app, expanding the platform’s portfolio beyond groceries and everyday essentials.
The rollout marks Instamart’s entry into household utility services and provides HPCL with a new digital distribution channel for its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products.
The service will initially be available in Bengaluru, where consumers can purchase HP Navya, HPCL’s lightweight 10 kg composite LPG cylinder. The cylinder features a translucent body that enables users to monitor gas levels, is corrosion-resistant and incorporates enhanced safety features. Its compact design is aimed at apartments, small families, students, working professionals and households seeking a secondary LPG cylinder.
Customers can also order HPCL’s 5 kg metal LPG cylinder. Unlike conventional domestic LPG connections, the offering does not require an existing domestic LPG connection, allowing a wider set of consumers to purchase the cylinders on demand.
First-time purchases will be treated as new cylinder purchases, while refill orders will require customers to return the empty HPCL cylinder at the time of delivery.
Companies Bet On Convenience
“Instamart has expanded its consumption use cases well beyond groceries to become part of everyday life. With HPCL, we are extending that convenience to an essential household service, bringing LPG onto Instamart while maintaining the safety and reliability standards consumers expect,” said Instamart Chief Executive Officer Amitesh Jha.
“Customer needs are evolving, and HPCL is committed to provide innovative solutions to meet them. We are making LPG more accessible and convenient for Naya Bharat with focus on safety, trust and reliability that customers associate with HP Gas,” said Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited Director-Marketing Amit Garg.
Garg added that HP Navya reflects HPCL’s focus on delivering innovative energy solutions and that partnering with Instamart would enable the company to reach customers through a faster, digitally enabled platform.
Delivery Through Authorised Distributors
Orders placed through Instamart will be fulfilled by HPCL’s authorised distributor network and delivered by trained personnel in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory protocols. First-time purchases will require identity verification and proof-of-delivery documentation as part of the fulfilment process.
Instamart currently operates in more than 131 cities and offers over 50,000 stock keeping units (SKUs). The partnership expands the platform into a high-trust household category, while HPCL extends its established LPG distribution network to an on-demand digital commerce channel.
