Move to strengthen colour cosmetics and skincare portfolio as Honasa scales its house-of-brands strategy in India’s beauty market
Honasa Consumer has appointed Saahil Nayar as business head and senior vice president to lead its emerging brands portfolio, marking a strategic push to strengthen its presence in colour cosmetics and prestige skincare segments.
In his new role, Nayar will oversee portfolio strategy, go-to-market execution, and expansion of brand presence, as the company accelerates efforts to build and scale consumer-facing beauty brands across categories.
The appointment comes at a time when Honasa is deepening its focus on premiumisation and category expansion within India’s fast-evolving beauty and personal care market, where digital-first brands are competing aggressively for consumer mindshare.
Nayar brings over 15 years of experience across beauty, personal care, luxury and lifestyle sectors. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer at Mila Beauté, where he led the brand through a phase of rapid expansion. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Swiss Beauty, strengthening its position in the highly competitive colour cosmetics segment.
He has also worked across global and Indian luxury brands, including Kama Ayurveda, Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Missoni, with experience spanning e-commerce, brand development, consumer strategy and business transformation.
Commenting on the appointment, Varun Alagh, co-founder and CEO, Honasa Consumer, said the company is focused on building “future-ready brands” rooted in evolving consumer behaviour and cultural shifts, adding that Nayar’s experience aligns with its long-term vision of scaling a house of brands.
Nayar said he is excited to join Honasa’s “tech-first” ecosystem and its focus on digital consumers, adding that the company’s approach to building a portfolio of brands positions it strongly for the next phase of growth in India’s beauty market.
