The homegrown QSR brand doubles down on non-metro markets, offering a high-ROI franchise model and making premium burgers accessible across India
Burger Singh, India’s leading homegrown quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain, has unveiled ambitious plans to open over 200 new outlets across Tier 2 and 3 cities in the coming years. With 175+ existing outlets, including 103 in non-metro locations, the brand is capitalising on the growing demand in smaller cities, solidifying its leadership in India’s booming QSR sector.
The expansion strategy aligns with India’s shifting consumption trends, where over 50 per cent of middle-class growth now comes from non-metro cities. While global QSR chains have largely focused on metros, Burger Singh has built a successful high-ROI model in smaller cities, which now contribute to 70 per cent of its revenue. The company’s year-on-year sales have doubled, reinforcing the viability of its regional-first approach.
Scaling Up with an Optimised Franchise Model
As part of its next growth phase, Burger Singh is offering a limited-time franchise opportunity at Rs 29 lakhs, valid until 31st March, making QSR franchising more accessible than ever. The brand’s store formats are designed to be cost-efficient, with lower overheads and optimised operations tailored for emerging markets.
“We recognised the untapped potential of smaller cities early on and designed a QSR model that thrives in these markets,” said Kabir Jeet Singh, Founder & CEO of Burger Singh. “By staying ahead of shifting consumption trends, streamlining operations, and making franchising more accessible, we’re not just expanding—we’re leading the non-metro QSR revolution in India.”
Recognition and Growth Trajectory
Further cementing its leadership, Burger Singh has been featured in Jio Hotstar’s ‘Brands of Tomorrow,’ a documentary series spotlighting India’s most innovative and high-impact brands. Being showcased at this scale marks a significant milestone for an Indian QSR brand, highlighting Burger Singh’s success in challenging global fast-food giants.
With a profitable presence in smaller cities, the company is uniquely positioned to drive the next wave of QSR expansion in India, outpacing global brands struggling with high costs and operational challenges in non-metro markets.
Founded in 2014 in Gurugram, Burger Singh is India’s first homegrown burger chain competing successfully with international fast-food giants. With a presence in 75+ cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Jaipur, Dehradun, and Amritsar, the brand has also expanded internationally, operating three outlets and a food truck in London. Valued at INR 430 crore following its recent pre-Series B funding round, Burger Singh continues to redefine India’s fast-food landscape with its unique blend of desi flavours and global appeal.
