HCLTech on Friday revealed the inauguration of its latest Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Iasi, Romania. The centre will offer cutting-edge solutions in digital, engineering, cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) domains, marking a significant step in HCLTech’s nearshore strategy to cater to its global clientele.
Having marked its fifth year of operations in Romania, HCLTech has solidified its presence in the country, employing approximately 1,000 professionals spread across Bucharest, Iasi and Brasov. The decision to establish a new GDC in Iasi emphasises the company’s commitment to harnessing local talent and leveraging Romania’s growing reputation as a hub for technological expertise.
Earlier this year, in March, HCLTech had disclosed its plans to expand operations in both Bucharest and Iasi. The ambitious expansion initiative aims to hire an additional 1,000 individuals within the next two years, with a notable emphasis on recruiting fresh graduates through collaborations with esteemed Romanian universities.
The company’s multi-city presence in Romania positions it strategically, allowing HCLTech to tap into diverse skill sets and resources. As the technology giant continues to broaden its footprint in the region, the new GDC in Iasi is anticipated to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions and services to clients worldwide.
