Flipkart Minutes recorded unprecedented growth in festive demand during the Makar Sankranti period, as consumers increasingly turned to quick commerce for last-minute shopping needs. The platform witnessed a sharp spike in orders between January 12 and 14, 2026, driven by demand for essential staples, pooja items and traditional festive products.
According to data shared by Flipkart Minutes, the most-delivered products during the period included rice, sugar, havan items, pulses, spices and kites, with rice emerging as the single most-ordered item. Demand for pooja essentials such as camphor and agarbatti grew by over 35 per cent, reflecting consumers’ focus on timely and convenient festival preparations. The most frequently ordered product combination during the festive window was rice, ghee and jaggery.
Bangalore emerged as the leading hub for last-minute festive orders, with peak demand observed during the 9 am morning rush and the 7 pm to 8 pm evening window. Overall festive orders on Flipkart Minutes rose significantly, led by sweets, pooja essentials and gifting items.
The highest engagement on the platform came from Gen Z and younger millennials aged between 25 and 34 years. This cohort relied on Flipkart Minutes for a wide range of festival requirements, from traditional staples to seasonal favourites. Items commonly added to carts included ghee, jaggery, split yellow lentils (moong dal), kites, havan items, sesame seeds, laddus, chikki and flowers.
The surge highlights a broader shift towards intentional and need-driven festive shopping, with consumers prioritising speed, convenience and relevance.
