7 Million Served: Third Wave Coffee’s 2024 Top Picks & Pairings

Bengaluru leads as coffee capital; Sundays shine as favourite coffee day

Third Wave Coffee, a popular name in India’s coffee QSR landscape, has unveiled its ‘2024 Coffee Notes,’ spotlighting the beverages and food pairings that captured the hearts of over 7 million customers last year.

The brand served a staggering 7.1 million cups of coffee, enough to form a tower four times taller than Mount Everest, reflecting India’s growing affinity for specialty coffee.

Cappuccino, Classic Cold Coffee, and Mocha Choco Chip were the year’s most popular drinks, while regional preferences revealed interesting insights. Bengaluru emerged as the nation’s coffee capital with 2.5 million cups served, followed by Delhi with 2 million. Sundays topped as the preferred coffee day, offering a perfect pause for the nation’s coffee enthusiasts.

Morning routines revolved around Cappuccinos and Americanos, while Frappes dominated evening choices. Seasonal innovations like Choco Malt Frappe and Pistachio Latte/Frappe became monsoon favourites. On Christmas Day, the busiest day of the year, cafes buzzed with festive energy.

Food pairings added to the coffee experience, with Banana Walnut Tea Cake, Baked Chilli Toast, and Chocolate Croissant leading as the most-loved accompaniments. Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi favoured Bagels, while Bengaluru embraced Pancakes as the ultimate breakfast companion.

Speaking about the highlights, Rajat Luthra, CEO of Third Wave Coffee, said, “2024 has been a landmark year. We’re humbled by the love and trust of the 5.4 million customers we served. As we step into 2025, we aim to grow our presence and make specialty coffee accessible to all, both at our cafes and on the go.”
