Tata Starbucks Marks Major Milestone With 500th Store In India

The brand opens its second Starbucks Reserve® in Gurugram, celebrating India’s coffee culture and a decade of connection and craft

Tata Starbucks has reached a significant milestone with the opening of its 500th store in India, underscoring more than a decade of growth, community connection and commitment to elevating the country’s coffee culture. From its first store in Fort, Mumbai, in 2012, the brand has now expanded to 500 stores across 81 cities, each shaped by local culture and designed to deliver the signature Starbucks Experience to Indian customers.

The 500th outlet — a Starbucks Reserve® store located in Gurugram — marks only the second Reserve store in the country. It represents the pinnacle of the company’s coffee craft, design ethos and experiential philosophy. Conceptualised as an immersive space, the store blends high-end brewing techniques with Indian heritage, offering customers a deeper journey into the world of coffee.

The design takes cues from the notes of coffee sourced from the Tata Nullore Estate and features textures, finishes and artworks crafted by local artisans. Every element celebrates India’s rich coffee-growing heritage, transforming the café into a sensory narrative of bean, terroir and tradition.

At the store, customers can explore some of Starbucks’ rarest small-lot coffees sourced globally, prepared through elevated brewing methods such as siphon, pour-over and Chemex. The store also debuts the OVISO™ espresso machine in India — an under-counter system featuring patented bottom-fill espresso shots and precision milk-steaming technology. The set-up allows customers to witness the craft up close, with each cup prepared to spotlight flavour, technique and storytelling.

Sushant Dash, chief executive officer of Tata Starbucks, said: “This milestone reflects Tata Starbucks’ commitment to growing and celebrating India’s rich, evolving coffee culture. Our campaign ‘500 Ways to Belong’ is a tribute to the communities that have made Starbucks their own. Over the past decade, every store, partner and customer has shaped how India connects over coffee. The opening of our 500th store, the Starbucks Reserve in Gurugram, reinforces our promise to continue crafting experiences that bring people together, one cup and one conversation at a time.”

The new Starbucks Reserve store in Gurugram opens to customers on 23 November 2025 and will operate from 8am to 11pm.
